Itinerary

Machu Picchu Express Vistadome Observatory - Full Day

The tour begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco between 4:40 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. We will then travel by tourist bus for 2 hours to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you will board the train to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu). Depending on the train’s departure time, you should always arrive at the train station 30 minutes before departure.

07:15 a.m. Be ready at the train station for check-in.
07:45 a.m. Train Vistadome Observatory from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu).
09:15 a.m. Arrival of the train in Aguas Calientes town.

The train journey takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes. Throughout the train ride, you will enjoy beautiful landscapes with extensive fields of crops, livestock, mountains, and snow-capped peaks. Upon arrival at the Aguas Calientes train station, your professional English/Spanish-speaking guide will be waiting to transfer you to the bus station. From there, we will travel for 30 minutes to the Sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

After entering the Inca City of Machu Picchu, the guide will begin a guided tour of the main attractions, including the Guardian’s Enclosure, the Temple of the Sun, the Intihuatana, the Temple of the Three Windows, the Sacred Plaza, the Temple of the Condor, the Sacred Rock, and others. During the tour, we will stop at the most important places for photos. Your guide will help you understand the sophisticated ideas and technology of this highly advanced culture.

If you still have energy, you can also climb Machu Picchu Mountain (which means Old Mountain) at 3000 m or 9840 feet. It takes about one hour and a half to get to the top ($70.00 USD – optional). The other option is to visit Huayna Picchu Mountain, which takes around one hour depending on your fitness. The Machu Picchu and Huayna Picchu ticket reservation is 3 months in advance and is only for those over 12 years of age. Huayna Picchu is 2667 m or 8751 feet ($70.00 USD – optional).

Once the official tour is over, we will have enough time to explore the Sanctuary on our own before returning to Cusco by train in the afternoon. The suggested time to descend from Machu Picchu to the city of Aguas Calientes is 1:00 p.m. It is recommended to arrive 30 minutes before the departure of the train.

4:22 p.m. Train Vistadome Observatory from Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu) to Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival at the station, a member of the company staff will be waiting to transfer you to your respective hotel in Cusco.

Inca trail Eddy and his team helped me with everything so I could do the Inca trail. On the evening before they went to visit my hostel and explained me in detail all I need to know about the Inca trail. I even got a beautiful shirt with the Inca trail on as a souvenir/gift. The hiking group was very mixed and great group. I have massive respect for all the porters/cooks and guides on the team. The Inca trail has a very big history and very beautiful Inca constructions. The nature is amazing . On my return to Cusco, Edy offered me a car ride to the hostel to pick up my belongings and drove me to the airport. It really made it practical and safe for me. An amazing Lares Trek I recently went on a hiking/yoga with Peruvian Path and Adventures and it was an amazing experience. The Lares Trek was beautiful, peaceful and had the perfect amount of challenging components. It was amazing to walk through the villages and not be around tons of people. A True Peruvian Experience!! Edy is simply amazing!! I was on a yoga retreat that used Edy for the Lares Trek and Machu Picchu and they truly went above and beyond.
