The Tour Canon del Colca Full Day begins with an early morning departure from Arequipa to Chivay for breakfast, followed by a visit to the Cruz del Cóndor viewpoint to witness the canyon and the majestic flight of the condors.

The return journey includes stops to view the valley’s agricultural terraces, a visit to the colonial church in Maca, and an optional soak in the Yanque Hot Springs before lunch in Chivay.

On the drive back to Arequipa, you will stop at the high-altitude Mirador de los Volcanes at 4,800 m, spot grazing alpacas at Toccra Bofedales, and observe wild vicuñas at Pampa Cañahuas, concluding with a late afternoon hotel drop-off.

Itinerary

Tour Cañon del Colca - Full Day

Very early in the morning, our staff will pick you up from your hotel between 3:00 a.m. and 3:30 a.m. We will depart from the white city of Arequipa towards the town of Chivay.

After 2 and a half hours of travel, we will arrive in Chivay, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast.

After breakfast, we will go to the Mirador de la Cruz del Cóndor, an observation point of the Colca Canyon and the spectacular flight of the condor. We will spend approximately 45 minutes at this place to appreciate the beauty of the Colca Canyon.

On the way back, we will stop at viewpoints in the area, from where we will observe the impressive terraces of the valley. We will also stop in the town of Maca, where we will visit its church.

Before lunch, we will enjoy a relaxing bath in the Yanque Hot Springs (optional), whose thermo-medicinal waters range between 35°C and 38°C in the pools.

At 12:30 p.m., we will have lunch in the town of Chivay.

After lunch, we will return to Arequipa. During the journey, we will stop at the Mirador de los Volcanes, which is also the highest point on the road at 4,800 m.a.s.l. (15,744 feet), from where we will appreciate a large part of the western mountain range.

Then, we will make a short stop at the Toccra Bofedales, where we will observe a large number of alpacas grazing freely in the area.

Bordering the snow-capped Chachani towards Pampa Cañahuas, we will pass through an area where vicuñas live freely.

At 5:00 p.m., we will arrive in the city of Arequipa and drop you off at the hotel.

Inca trail Eddy and his team helped me with everything so I could do the Inca trail. On the evening before they went to visit my hostel and explained me in detail all I need to know about the Inca trail. I even got a beautiful shirt with the Inca trail on as a souvenir/gift. The hiking group was very mixed and great group. I have massive respect for all the porters/cooks and guides on the team. The Inca trail has a very big history and very beautiful Inca constructions. The nature is amazing . On my return to Cusco, Edy offered me a car ride to the hostel to pick up my belongings and drove me to the airport. It really made it practical and safe for me. An amazing Lares Trek I recently went on a hiking/yoga with Peruvian Path and Adventures and it was an amazing experience. The Lares Trek was beautiful, peaceful and had the perfect amount of challenging components. It was amazing to walk through the villages and not be around tons of people. A True Peruvian Experience!! Edy is simply amazing!! I was on a yoga retreat that used Edy for the Lares Trek and Machu Picchu and they truly went above and beyond.
