The Ausangate 7 Lakes Full Day Tour in Cusco is a stunning full-day hike near the city of Cusco, Peru. It’s nestled in a remote region of the Andes Mountains, at the foot of the Qolqecruz and Ausangate peaks.

These colorful 7 lakes of Ausangate, which were only visible to hikers along the Ausangate Trek two years ago, can now be admired in all their natural beauty on a day trip. You’ll visit the seven most famous lakes as part of this impressive excursion. The hike is approximately 10–15 km (5–7 hours). This route is one of the best options and a must-do for lovers of beautiful scenery and hiking.

Itinerary

(Cusco – Pacchanta – 7 Lakes – Pacchanta – Cusco) Full Day

We will begin our exciting tour to the Ausangate 7 Lakes with pickup from your hotel in the city of Cusco starting at 5:00 a.m. We will head toward the beautiful community of Pacchanta during a trip of approximately six hours, during which we will have the opportunity to appreciate the impressive flora and fauna of the high-Andean landscapes.

Once in Pacchanta, we will enjoy a nutritious breakfast typical of the region. We will have a short break, during which our guide will give us detailed information about the adventure that is about to begin.

After breakfast, we will continue with our walking tour of the 7 Ausangate Lagoons. The route covers approximately 7.5 km and will take us around five hours to explore.

During this time, we will visit the Azulqocha, Orco Otorongo, China Otorongo, Puqacocha, Alqacocha, Qomercocha, and Patacocha lagoons, and we will marvel at the views of majestic mountains such as Ausangate, Mariposa, Jampa, Pucapunta, Caracol, and Tinke.

Along the way, we will have the opportunity to observe native birds, alpacas, llamas, vizcachas, and, with a little luck, the majestic Andean condor.

At the end of the lagoon circuit, we will return to Pacchanta, where we will enjoy a delicious local lunch. Afterward, we will relax in the community’s medicinal hot springs, recovering and recharging our energy after a day of incredible discoveries in the Andes.

Finally, our unforgettable adventure through the 7 Ausangate Lagoons will conclude with our return to the city of Cusco, arriving at approximately 7:00 p.m.

Inca trail Eddy and his team helped me with everything so I could do the Inca trail. On the evening before they went to visit my hostel and explained me in detail all I need to know about the Inca trail. I even got a beautiful shirt with the Inca trail on as a souvenir/gift. The hiking group was very mixed and great group. I have massive respect for all the porters/cooks and guides on the team. The Inca trail has a very big history and very beautiful Inca constructions. The nature is amazing . On my return to Cusco, Edy offered me a car ride to the hostel to pick up my belongings and drove me to the airport. It really made it practical and safe for me. An amazing Lares Trek I recently went on a hiking/yoga with Peruvian Path and Adventures and it was an amazing experience. A True Peruvian Experience!! Edy is simply amazing!! I was on a yoga retreat that used Edy for the Lares Trek and Machu Picchu and they truly went above and beyond.
